Why ATG Deserves Your Support

ATG has earned a reputation for effectiveness and professionalism. Its board members and technical advisers serve as unpaid volunteers. Administrative expenses have been limited to less than 8 percent of ATG's budget — far below the average for non-profit groups. ATG's record of success has enabled the organization to attract over $5 million in grants from the U.S. Agency for International Development, the United Nations, and the Lincy Foundation.

The backbone of ATG's support, however, has been provided by individual donors. In order to qualify for U.S. government funds to operate internationally, ATG needs to raise at least 20 of its budget from private donors. Without their contributions, large and small, ATG's wheat seed project and other critical programs would have dried up for lack of funding. As Armenia and ATG embark on a new stage of development, we are asking you to be part of our efforts.

In the area of wheat cultivation, ATG intends for private agrobusiness companies to reach a widening circle of farmers with the new varieties of seed that have been developed. In Armenia's dairy industry, ATG veterinarians are advising dairy farmers on new techniques to reduce disease and boost milk production. To increase the supply of vegetables in the winter, ATG and local engineers have designed a prototype for a new, highly efficient greenhouse and are seeking investors to begin manufacturing.

ATG's projects match the renewed sense of hope in the Armenian countryside. After weathering seasons of hardship, fear has given way to a quiet confidence among Armenia's private farmers. They are now ready to move forward. But they need your help — not in the form of a handout but through an investment. By sharing your financial support, you can become a partner in Armenia's future.

For more information about how you can help Armenia's farmers, contact the ATG office at (559) 224-1000 or by e-mail (info@atgusa.org). Tax-deductible donations can be sent to ATG, 1300 E. Shaw, suite 131, Fresno, CA 93710. You may also donate to ATG online.
